AI created more jobs in web design, data science, digital marketing and more: IBM India

It has been said that generative artificial intelligence (AI) will generate more job opportunities than it will remove, even as it starts to threaten some occupations. Speaking to the news agency IANS, Sandip Patel, Managing Director, IBM India/South Asia, said he has witnessed several advancements and advances in technology change over time.

"I firmly believe AI will create more jobs than it destroys," he said in clarification. When people think of completely new employment, they normally get really terrified. For instance, the emergence of web publishing and other web-enabled technologies brought about by the Internet resulted in a reduction of jobs in several industries, such as newspaper printing."

Therefore, re-skilling will be important, as Patel said. This is something we have talked about a lot and keep repeating.

There is still much more to be done, even while 46% of Indian businesses presently train or reskill staff to collaborate with automation and artificial intelligence tools.

He declared, "It is evident that the government acknowledges this."

Of the workers in the company, half of them say they are eager to use the new automation and artificial intelligence capabilities.

The question that now arises is: How can a large group of individuals be trained? Not everyone has the skills necessary to construct AI or write programming, and so on. Working with these technologies as they develop is a skill that must be acquired, Patel told IANS.

The secret to India's advancement in AI, according to Minister of State for IT and Skill Development Rajeev Chandrasekhar, is technological skill rather than chip-driven computational capacity.

"One of AI's more fundamental challenges is talent. Universities must produce master's and doctoral degrees in AI. I can't sleep at night because of talent. "The infrastructure pieces will be resolved expeditiously," he declared during a December event.

He emphasized that the IT sector, academic institutions, and governments everywhere must seriously collaborate to shape the talent pool for AI-related occupations in the future.
